Hi, I'm Amy. Here's a little about my background, my story, and why I became a birth doula. I have primarily a corporate wellness background. My husband Brad is a traditional business owner in concrete construction. We have 5 beautiful daughters and live in Louisville, KY, where he and I were both born and raised. I became passionate about Doula work after 5 of my own natural births, and experiencing how absolutely instrumental my own birth doula was for both my husband and myself during each and every birth. Eventually, after the birth of our 5th daughter, when my husband and I decided our family was complete, I just didn't want to be done with the birth world. So, I'm here to help other mamas have the beautiful birth experience they deserve!
More about my background: I graduated from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business with a BS in Management & Marketing. I then founded and managed a pediatric obesity clinic, which I sold to a larger wellness center after a few years. I transitioned into corporate wellness for a large grocery chain, then for a large hospital system. I have always enjoyed working in business and planned to continue working in corporate America after i had kids. But when my daughter was approaching her first birthday, I decided the work/life balance I wanted with my family was a little different than the 40-50 hour corporate work weeks I was putting in. I went out on my own and started doing wellness consulting and marketing for some wellness brands on a part-time basis from home so I could spend more time with my daughter. I now manage a household of seven; do personal wellness consulting, and serve mothers through the birth journey as a birth doula focused in natural birth and home birth.
